About AMBA & BGA Accreditation
The Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the Business Graduates Association (BGA) are international organisations dedicated to advancing the quality and impact of business education worldwide.

AMBA accreditation is awarded to high-quality postgraduate management programmes that meet rigorous international standards in areas including teaching and learning, curriculum, career development and employability, student and alumni engagement, and interaction with employers. AMBA accredits MBA, DBA and MBM programmes at the top 2% of business schools globally.

BGA accreditation takes a whole-school approach, with a focus on responsible management, positive impact, lifelong learning, and the value a business school creates for its students, graduates and wider communities.

NUGSB is dual accredited by AMBA and BGA, reflecting its commitment to high standards in postgraduate business education, continuous development, responsible management and positive impact.
2026 Reaccreditation
In 2026, Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business successfully completed the AMBA & BGA reaccreditation process and was awarded five-year reaccreditation for its MBA and Executive MBA programmes.

The reaccreditation followed a review by the International Accreditation Advisory Board of AMBA & BGA. NUGSB was first accredited by AMBA and BGA in 2023.

The 2026 review recognized NUGSB’s contribution to the development of Kazakhstan’s human capital and its role as a bridge between Kazakhstan’s business community and the international business education community. The review also highlighted the School’s ability to consistently attract highly capable and well-qualified MBA students whose academic achievements, professional experience and engagement contribute to the quality of the learning environment.

“This reaccreditation is a strong recognition of the progress NUGSB has made in building a business school with both national relevance and international engagement.”
Jozef Konings, Dean of NUGSB

The five-year reaccreditation marks an important milestone in NUGSB’s continued development as a business school with strong connections to Kazakhstan and an increasingly international outlook.

2023 Initial Accreditation
NUGSB first received AMBA and BGA accreditation in 2023, following a rigorous international evaluation process that included a site visit by an international peer review team.

The initial accreditation recognized NUGSB’s commitment to high-quality business education, research and student experience, as well as the quality of its students, alumni and faculty research. “Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business is a leading business school with a commitment to excellence, innovation, and global perspective, NUGSB offers a range of cutting-edge business programs designed to prepare students for successful careers in diverse fields. After a thorough and rigorous evaluation process, including a site visit by an international peer review team, NUGSB has met and exceeded the stringent international standards set by AMBA & BGA. This accreditation is a testament to NUGSB's commitment to delivering world-class business education, innovative research, and an exceptional student experience.” (AMBA media center)

The AMBA accreditation established NUGSB among the internationally accredited business schools within the AMBA global network and marked an important milestone in the School’s development.

Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates Association (BGA) said: ‘I would like to congratulate everyone at Nazarbayev University’s Graduate School of Business for this accreditation. The school is doing incredible work in creating quality MBA programmes – which create fantastic opportunities for their alumni. I look forward to working with this school very closely in the future and welcome them to the AMBA family of the top 2% of business schools globally.”

Dr. Jozef Konings, the Dean of NUGSB, emphasized that "according to the well-known UT Dallas rankings of research-intensive business schools, NUGSB is ranked number one in Eurasia. By obtaining AMBA & BGA accreditation, we show the relevance of being a research-intensive business school. Bear in mind that less than 2% of all business schools globally achieve such an AMBA/BGA quality label. This will make our graduates and alumni even more attractive for hiring by multinational enterprises, leading companies, banks and government. It is an important recognition of the capabilities of our students to transform society and business, generating a positive impact on the region. This global recognition will generate important visibility not only locally, but on the international market for business education."

The 2026 five-year reaccreditation builds on this foundation, recognizing the progress NUGSB has made since its initial accreditation and reaffirming its commitment to high standards in business education and continued international engagement.
